Classes

Clinical Pilates

Clinical Pilates is an evolution of traditional Pilates developed by Physiotherapists in keeping with modern research findings.

The emphasis is on performing controlled movements, strengthening the core muscles of the trunk, which help support your spine. This can be beneficial to posture, back and neck pain, muscle toning and flexibility.  Clinical research also supports the role of clinical pilates is particularly effective in managing lower back pain.

The benefits of our classes are:

  • They are run by Physiotherapists to ensure close professional monitoring of correct movements
  • Class sizes are small for easier, effective management of each individual.
  • Exercises can be tailored for people who are struggling or suffering with an injury.
  • Our classes are of a gentle and slower pace than those run in most gyms.
  • Our Physiotherapists will guide you to find the correct level of exercise that your body should be working at.
  • You do not need to be a client of Orchards to attend our Pilates, but we do ask that all clients attend a pre-class screening session before entering a class.
  • We have dedicated over 60’s and Osteoporosis classes.

Without their specialist knowledge and care I would be unable to work and live the full and happy life I enjoy. Their reception staff, Pilates teachers, and physiotherapists provide invaluable support with a smile! "

Good assessment and explanations of pathology; straightforward exercise regimes; persistent attention. I am currently working with Paul. He is exceptional. Very high quality work - of the highest standard. "

" Sarah my physiotherapist has been a star. She has taken me a winging patient with a pinched nerve in my neck in agony and in a few short weeks I am pain free, and taking no meds. I am not keen on needles but Sarah performed acupuncture and I am positive this cured my nerve pain. Thank you so much Sarah I will not hesitate to see you again for any other injuries. "
